How much product do I have to send you for testing?

The Washington State administrative code 314-55-101 states that cannabis flower sub-samples (which comprise the complete sample to be sent to the lab) be of roughly equal weight not less than one gram each, and be deducted from a harvest (as defined in WAC 314-55-010(14)). Depending on the total lot size, the following quantities are required:

  • For flower lots weighing up to 10 pounds, a minimum of 8 sub-samples must be taken (minimum total sample weight: 8 grams)
  • For flower lots weighing 10 pounds or more but less than 20 pounds, a minimum of 12 sub-samples must be taken (minimum total sample weight: 12 grams)
  • For flower lots weighing 20 pounds or more but less than 30 pounds, a minimum of 15 sub-samples must be taken (minimum total sample weight: 15 grams)
  • For flower lots weighing 30 pounds or more but less than 40 pounds, a minimum of 18 sub-samples must be taken (minimum total sample weight: 18 grams)
  • For flower lots weighing 40 pounds or more but not more than 50 pounds, a minimum of 19 sub-samples must be taken (minimum total sample weight: 19 grams)

The flower sub-samples should be packaged in a single container – each sub-sample does NOT need to be individually packaged or individually labelled. Remember to include the total size of the lot that the sample was taken from when submitting the sample to the lab.

(Be sure to read below “How Should I Select My Samples”).

Infused extract, inhalation extracts, concentrates, kief, and hash require 3 grams per production run.
